Onalea Smith
September 8, 1933 - May 13, 2012
Onalea Smith, 78, of Hillsdale, and former Camden area resident, passed away Sunday (5/13/2012) at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born September 8, 1933, in the village of Camden to Harvey B. and Leona L. (Traxler) Lemmon. She had worked as a bartender and cook at local area establishments and was an avid bowler, Euchre player and NASCAR fan.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara (Ron) Hahn of Temperance; one son Rick (Kim) Headley of Hillsdale; one sister, Donna (Frank) Stahler of Montpelier, Ohio; two brothers, Lyle (Sally ) Traxler and Denton (Connie) Lemmon of Camden; three grandchildren; five step grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading. Interment will follow in Camden Cemetery at a later date. Visitation is scheduled Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family or a charity of donor’s choice.
