John Edward Strait

John E. Strait, 49, of Jonesville, passed away Tuesday, (May 15, 2012), at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born September 8, 1962, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to John E. and Shirley (Puffenbarger) Strait and she survives in Jonesville. He was a 1981 graduate of Hillsdale High School and worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Quincy American Legion and the Jonesville Eagles, and enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting for morels.

Also, he is survived by one daughter, Brandy (Mike) Lofton of Quincy; one son, Chad (Chrissy) Bennington of Hillsdale; three sisters, AnnaLisa (Randy) Holland of Jonesville, Belinda (Donnie) Campbell of Indiana, and Teresa (Kevin) Hemminger of Trenary; seven grandchildren; companion, Cindy McDowell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one nephew, Danny Baughman.

A private family service will be held. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Litchfield.
