Charles C. "Chuck" Johnson Jr.
March 16, 1952 - May 21, 2012
Charles C. "Chuck" Johnson Jr., age 60, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at home. He was born March 16, 1952 in Adrian to Charles and Annetta (Cool) Johnson Sr. Chuck married Kay Kocienski on October 16, 1971 and she survives.
Chuck was a 1970 graduate of Madison High School in Adrian. He managed Arnold Drug Store in Hillsdale, retired from Guardian Industry after 25 years of service and worked at Eddie's Market in Jonesville. Chuck was a member,elder and choir member of Jonesville First Presbyterian Church, Core Representative for Jonesville Boy Scouts, Lions Club, Jonesville Village Council for 12 years and President of the Men's Bowling Association at L&J Lanes. Chuck enjoyed bowling with his kids every Sunday, following his grandchildren sports, golfing, telling stories and jokes, and watching Michigan Sports, especially the Tigers. He was a grandfather to many generations of Jonesville kids.
Surviving besides his wife Kay are three children, Lisa (Rob) Spieth of Hillsdale, Sara Johnson and Mark Petrie of Jonesville and Chuck Johnson III and Valerie Hill of Jonesville; twelve grandchildren; his mother, Annetta Johnson; sisters, Patricia (Dennis) Beyerlein of Horn Lake, Mississippi and Charlotte Johnson of Adrian and a brother, Robert (Virginia) Johnson of Adrian.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father and a grandson, Mark Allen Petrie Jr.
Funeral services for Chuck Johnson will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Jonesville First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Emily Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville.
